Become a driver education instructor.
Teach high school students driver education in the classroom and/or behind-the-wheel. Multiple locations in the CESA 2 region may be required. As a driver education instructor, you have the ability to work independently and the flexibility in scheduling the BTW lessons and working independently. CESA 2 has a DPI-approved teacher licensing program in driver education, free for CESA 2 employees.
To be considered, the candidate must have:
- Bachelor's degree in education
- Driver education certification (An emergency license can be applied for once hired and enrolled in our licensing program.)
- DPI-approved teaching license in another subject area or grade level to add driver education
- Prior teaching experience is a plus, but not required
- Ability to work independently
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Classroom wage is $925 plus $10 per enrollment for classes larger than 25 students. The classroom course consists of 17 two-hour sessions. The wage for behind-the-wheel driving sessions is $23/hour.
